PitaPata Dog tickers

Journey till now....

Before we brought him home....
This was our first glimpse of Pluto and his family. We were explicitly looking for a male lab pup. And when we saw this pic, we couldn't really stop ourselves from falling in love.... I mean, look at them. How can you not love them?
I just felt like taking all of them in a giant bear hug...

The day he came home...
Dear lord, I still remember when Pluto finally reached home. It was almost 10PM when the breeder finally brought over this little bundle of joy. He was in a BIG orange crate...and he was lightly whimpering, may be because he was damn bored sitting in the crate. The moment crate opened... we saw this fawn ball of fur shooting out with speed of lightening...running around the entire length of the house, jumping, sneefing, trying to chew....gosh... he was unstoppable...

The next morning.
Since, neither me nor my husband has ever had a pet dog before, we were not really sure, how to take care of this little guy. For the first couple of days, all of us were weary of each other... We had spent the entire night with one eye open since, we didnt have a leash to tie this cutie pie, and he was left loose for the night. The next morning, both of us had blood shot eyes with lack of sleep... but Pluto seemed content with chewing any thing that he could get his teeth into... my collection of soft-toys was his first prey...it still remains no.1 item to attack till date...

Welcome to family, Pluto:
Since, I decided to get Pluto as a birthday present for my sis, it was pretty obvious that she had to come running to meet him... When she came, Pluto was sleeping. Its the most cute thing to watch... Pluto sleeping peacefully. Little did she know the moment he wakes up, he's going to dart for her camera bag... the bag that cost me almost half of what it cost me to get Pluto... and the bag that held the professional camera that costs almost 10 times more....

The rest of the clan:
A pic from one of our family vacations
I was never an ardent dog lover. The reason behind bringing Pluto home was more of impulse than logic. Ofcourse we spent a lot of time researching and coming to a conclusion of what sort of dog we should get, but even with all the research it was pure impulse that we ended up with a Lab. While, I was the one without any preferences in pet zone, a part of my family is actual dog lover. It was obvious that they were the next to come and visit this bundle of joy. They were full of support, and loads of advice on how to handle and take care of him. If it wasn't for my eldest cousin sis, I wouldnt even know how to feed him his daily supplements. Thanx Janu & Aloka... :)

First outing and Pluto's Papa:
Thats Pluto n Papa @ Domino's
My hubby was the driving force behind bringing Pluto home. He was the one driving me around to meet various breeders and kennels, talking to people, negotiating and most importantly financing the whole deal. But when it comes to actually handling a dog...he's scared out of his own skin. His rationale behind getting a dog, was "how long am I going to be scared of the species?" So just days after we got Pluto, when he picked Pluto up in his arms for a photo-op, I was not only glad but besides myself laughing at how uncomfortable BOTH of them looked in this snap... (the third one in the snap is my youngest cousin who couldn't stay away)

Fascination with wierd things:

Plastic Bags, Soft Toys, Papa's shorts and Mom's house slippers... some of Pluto's fav chew toys
Hunting Medicine boxes
They say puppies are curious creatures and Pluto is live testimony to that statement. He's ever curious about rather odd artefacts. Shoes, clothes and some other such stuff is pretty normal for puppies and dogs to investigate. What stumbles me most is his fascination with the doormats, and boxes. So much so that within 15 days of coming home, this yellow fur ball had already ripped one doormat, and forced me to hide his medicine boxes so that he won't hunt them down n rip them to shreds. Alas, I hadn't taken his brilliant sense of smell into consideration, before hiding the medicines

Chewing is my FAVORITE habit:

Pluto has been a chewer ever since he stepped out of that bright orange crate... here's evidence...

We got him a Doremon toy from signal once. The point was to see his reaction to toys which need to be wound and then moves...

He broke the moving legs the very next day and the rest of the pieces followed suit in less than 3 days :D

Mom's parcel box was on the coffee table...so I ripped it

Once there was a time when Pluto was too little to climb on the bed to wake you up by licking your face and neck mercilessly... It didn't mean he'd let you sleep past his walking time of 6am...

This is what he did to occupy himself when mom n dad did not get up for his walktime...and he failed to rouse them by trying to jump on the bedside...

This pic hails from the time Pluto was suffering from Gastro and was told to be off water for the duration of treatment...

Mom kept him leashed at a place so that she can keep an eye on him and what all he's been eating...

He "obviously" did not like being leashed... so he chewed it off....

Ofcourse he likes to claim he does not have a "bottle" problem, but half a dozen chewed of plastic water bottles will DISAGREE...

Anything plastic works really... look what he found on the terrace the other day...

My sis was trying to tie her handkerchief around his neck, kinda like a bandana for a photo-op... but why would Pluto care for what Amu-Dee wants, when he has something clean smelling thing to chew on???

Daddy bought him a new plastic toy... which looks like a bone... this is Pluto contemplating how exactly to attack this thing....

Yeah, there was a time when he was afraid of the big bright Orange Crate from which he reached home... but not for long...

Here's he trying to hide behind his bowl, in attempt to chew off the door frame... hoping that mom can't really see his mouth so, she won't know what he's really upto...
